My husband and I met in 2020, got engaged in 2021, married in 2022, had our first baby in 2023, and our second in 2024, and started Golden Milk Lactation in 2025. If you couldn’t tell, we do everything in triple speed! But we like it this way. It keeps us on our toes.
We’re deeply involved in our church community, and you can often find me playing my ukulele for a church event, making sourdough bread for my family and micro-bakery, gardening, or discovering the next semi-crunchy mom thing to embrace (we all need to enjoy some Taco Bell once in awhile, right?).
I did some short and long-term missions trips in my early adult years, which really shaped my love of the Lord and made my faith my own. As I’ve grown my family, my mission-field has been my home, and now I’m eager to expand it into this journey as well. Coming alongside mom’s in their breastfeeding experience and sharing the love of the Lord in this beautiful way He has created us.
Get to know me…
Hello! My name is Rebecca,
I’m the 8th of 9 kids, daughter of a homeschooling, book writing, incredible mom and doula (check out Dandelion Hill Doula for the best!) , and a brilliant, peaceful, bookkeeper dad! Surrounded by 7 brothers and 1 sister, I had the most adventurous childhood.
Why did I choose to become a CLC?
Trust me, I know, this season of motherhood is crazy. Why in the world would I want to add a business to the mix?
After my daughter was born breech at home, she had a lot of unrelated complications. From tongue and lip ties, to torticollis, to colic, and problems breastfeeding…and I had no idea how to handle any of it. This was just the way babies were, right? The pain, discomfort, sleepless nights, PPD, that was all normal, right?
It took 6 months of heartache and trying every possible solution on my own before I reached out for help from a local lactation counselor. At this point I was pregnant (didn’t know it yet), my milk was nearly dried up, my daughter was dehydrated, and I hadn’t slept longer than a 15 minute stretch before needing to nurse my daughter again. I was at my end. But this dear woman encouraged me, brought peace to the situation, helped identify latch issues, and help me come up with a plan. She checked in on me after we found out we were pregnant, and I even was able to come back to her with my son when he went through a breastfeeding strike.
Meeting with her brought hope in a hopeless situation. And what better way to bring even more hope than to bring the gospel into it?
My passion for learning has never ceased, even in these childbearing years, and I found myself wanting to learn about all the incredible benefits of breastfeeding and how to do it well. As my mom was going through her doula training, we had joked about starting a business together. It didn’t seem doable with my high-needs, velcro baby, so we’d laugh and dream and put it aside. But at the beginning of 2025 I felt God putting it on my heart. So I started my courses with the Healthy Children Project, and got my official Lactation Counselor certification through the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice. Before finishing schooling, I already had moms reaching out and asking for support through extremely difficult postpartum situations, and in coming alongside them, I felt God solidifying this calling on my life.
And thus; Golden Milk Lactation was born! Zloty means Golden in polish and it seemed fitting that I incorporate my married name (I wear it proudly!), and God-given calling into my new business.
